Online Corrosion Awareness Course
Course Description
The NAVSEA on-line training course addresses the knowledge deficiencies within the Corrosion Prevention and Control (CPC) workforce. Key features include:
- Provide an ongoing learning experience increasing in complexity each year
- Sensitize the workforce to the importance of corrosion control, communicate when and where to go for help and the consequences of preservation process failures
- Measure the effectiveness of communication from the technical authority
- Identify areas where WBT participants need more help
- Course registration and development via the NST Center
The Online Corrosion Awareness Course is intended for all personnel involved in any aspect of corrosion control, including:
- Painting
- Coating system inspection and assessment
- Impressed current cathodic protection system maintenance
- Maintenance planning
- System design and engineering
Course Registration
Please review the following registration instructions:
- Click on the “Register for this Course” link below
- On the course login page, click on the “Courses” button in the left frame.
- Check the “Enrollment” boxes for both “Corrosion Awareness” and “Student Manual”
- Follow the remaining registration instructions.
Please note the following:
- Reviewing the “student manual” is recommended before proceeding with the course. In addition, there are audio and video clips in the “Corrosion Awareness Course”, please make sure your computer speakers are on and not muted.
- To take full advantage of the course material, please click on the “Tips” and “Notes” button s where they appear.
- You must score 80% or better on each of the four module quizzes in order to move to the next module. Each module quiz can be taken over as many times as necessary. Questions are randomly selected each time from material in the module.
- Once you have completed all four module quizzes you may print your course completion certificate
